Kean University is proud to be one of the most diverse universities in the nation, empowering students with a promise of social mobility through education and career. Some of the recent challenges it has had to overcome to live up to that promise are well known by fellow higher education leaders: a demographic cliff, a competitive landscape, federal government resource changes, and public questioning of higher education. They knew they needed a new strategy that would focus their resources on engaging students that would be most likely to enroll.


Solution


To ensure connections with the right students, Kean teamed up with its partner, Encoura, to leverage its advanced enrollment technology and student research. Through Encoura's Insights Cloud and predictive modeling, Kean focused its student search on connecting with sophomore through senior students whose predictive model scores and university affinity statuses reflected that they were most likely to enroll at Kean. It also updated its communication plans to these students by integrating personalization to each student's college mindset.
