Deconstructing CBE: Portraits of Institutional Practice

Eduventures, Ellucian, and the American Council on Education (ACE) have teamed up for their second annual review of competency based education.
In 2016, we surveyed more than 250 schools in order to assess their current or planned implementation of CBE. This survey resulted in the publication of Deconstructing CBE in July 2016. In 2017, we turned to qualitative research and conducted interviews with key CBE stakeholders at seven institutions selected from the 2016 survey. In 2017, our primary goal has been to better understand why some CBE programs have moved beyond an experimental phase in Deconstructing CBE: Portraits of Institutional Practice.
