Open Positions
Senior Account Executive

The Senior Account Executive will be responsible for using consultative and value-based sales techniques to understand prospective customer’s needs and recommend Eduventures research solutions in a compelling and strategic manner. In this role, the Senior Account Executive will foster relationships at the Executive and C-Level at higher education institutions in an assigned territory. This position is responsible for managing existing client relationships and establishing new revenue opportunities via cold-calling, prospecting, and closing new business in higher education, particularly those with a prioritized interest in adult learner demand, academic program/academic innovation and student success. Success in this position requires the ability to understand, communicate and align a spectrum of client needs to high-end research, advisory, and consulting services. The ability to build a long-term portfolio of accounts and manage a multi-faceted business pipeline, along with a demonstrated record of meeting individual and organizational goals, is essential. This position will require 50-75% travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent Eduventures via presentations and group discussions with higher education leaders. Build relationships and secure subscriptions by meeting with educational executives (President, CIO, Provost, etc.) to identify client challenges and present relevant solutions.
  • Develop a strategic sales plan and individual account tactics to effectively penetrate and identify business needs with ultimate decision makers. Exceed sales quota by creating and communicating the value of member services with prospective customers.
  • Maintain a positive reputation and credibility during and after the initial sales process.
  • Effectively use published research and findings when engaging prospective and existing clients.
  • Exhibit natural curiosity on market trends and provide market insights to inform research and new product development.
  • Collaborate with Client Research Analysts and other team members to ensure client satisfaction and success.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and analysts to create targeted client proposals in which client needs are identified and mapped to research solutions.

Required Experience:

  • Experience as an executive in higher education who leveraged research and/or advisory services in a strategic manner.
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas preferred: online education, continuing education, academic program innovation, curriculum development and measuring institutional sustainability.
  • Professional sales experience selling research or professional services preferred but not required.
  • Flexible and adaptive to change; able to work productively in a changing environment
  • Working knowledge of Sales Force or/other CRM, Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Enrollment Professional Services Consultant

This position will provide strategic leadership to the implementation Encoura’s Data Lab SaaS solution and enrollment consultation for platform clients in the areas of enrollment strategy and data-driven marketing segmentation. This position is the cog in the wheel of complex enrollment analytics and marketing service strategies designed to assist member institutions effectively and efficiently meet enrollment objectives. This is accomplished by providing excellent project and account management and working directly with enrollment leadership to provide impactful consultative services.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Encoura Data Lab and provide strategic guidance to member institutions for list selection, funnel analysis, and enrollment marketing tactics.
  • Meticulous detail to on-time, on-budget implementation cycles for Data Lab implementation through use of communication and project management tools.
  • Design and ensure execution of effective solutions for maximum impact to member institutions.
  • Identify and monitor key metrics in enrollment marketing initiatives and work directly with members to meet their institutional objectives.
  • Communicate effectiveness of solutions to member institutions and within NRCCUA via reoccurring strategic briefs and physical or digital reports and visualizations.
  • Anticipate impact of, and act on, changes to marketing initiatives in regards to both NRCCUA and our member institutions.
  • Analyze member institutions’ enrollment needs and assist sales in matching NRCCUA products to those needs.
  • Work with a cross functional team to maintain and make recommendations on the technology roadmap associated to delivery of enrollment services.
  • Have thorough understanding of current trends in enrollment management, enrollment metrics, data-driven enrollment decision making, and marketing strategies.
  • Present at regional and national conferences on data-driven enrollment management topics.
  • Design and execute webinars and professional development sessions for admission professionals within the objectives set forth by NRCCUA leadership.
  • Impact the lives of millions of college going students through partnerships with member institutions.

Required Education or Formal Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of leadership in an Office of Admissions or Enrollment Management

AWS Dev Ops

We are looking for an experienced, talented, and motivated AWS DevOps Engineer with significant experience in Linux, Windows, AWS, and DevOps Automation to be a key member of a small, skilled, results-oriented team of technology professionals. The role involves broad responsibility for maintaining and enhancing our AWS cloud environment. Duties include monitoring, optimization, automation, data maintenance, and support. The AWS DevOps Engineer should be a thought leader who designs and develops processes and systems to improve efficiencies and effectiveness within the NRCCUA technical space.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Work closely with development teams to integrate their projects into the production and test AWS environments and ensure their ongoing support.
  • Gain a deep application-level knowledge of the systems as well as contribute to their overall design.
  • Be a DevOps champion – work closely with other internal teams to build security, reliability, and scalability into the development lifecycle.
  • Dive deep into the software stack to troubleshoot as needed.
  • Build engineering automation and productivity tools to streamline and scale applications in the production environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment and operations.
  • Architect and implement reliable infrastructure services on AWS, from the ground up, to deliver highly scalable services.
  • Work with a team of peers who are smart, professional, pull their own weight, and share a passion for what they are creating.
  • Serve in an on-call rotation as an escalation contact for critical production issues.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with Linux administration and Windows 2008R2 / 2012.
  • 3+ years of experience administering Amazon Web Services accounts and working with AWS services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, RDS, etc).
  • Very strong scripting and automation skills – you believe you can automate just about everything.
  • Proficiency with the AWS CLI.
  • Experience using configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform.
  • Application Performance Monitoring and Log aggregation at scale.
  • Microservices infrastructure applications such as Service Discovery, Configuration Service, API Gateway.
  • RDBMS experience such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
  • NoSQL experience such as MongoDB.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
  • A solid Ops foundation – you are always thinking, “what happens if this fails?” when you build things.
  • Experience working in an iterative-based development environment using Agile/SCRUM/Kanban.

AR / Billing / Collections Specialist

The AR / Billing / Collections specialist will be responsible for handling our entire accounts receivable, billing and collections process including generating customer invoices, entering credit memos, applying customer payments, assisting with resolving customer related billing & payment questions, managing collections efforts on a daily basis, provide weekly collection reporting, and provide support to the Controller and Sr. Revenue Accountant, as well as other operations staff. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to handle vendor inquiries, verify employee expense reports and help with year-end reporting. We work in an open office environment where we strive to collaborate across business functions and work together as a team.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Create customer invoices from all sales order forms, ensuring invoices accurately reflect all relevant data included on the sales order
  • Maintain customer data required for billing, including PO’s, W-9’s, and customer contact information
  • Apply customer payments to AR sub-ledger within NetSuite
  • Process customer credit memos as needed
  • Assist with customer related billing inquiries
  • Work closely with sales team to provide answers and solutions to billing questions
  • Reconcile monthly order forms between NetSuite and Salesforce.com
  • Reconcile accounts receivable accounts
  • Determine customer sales tax applicability and collect exemption certificates as needed
  • Provide customer aging reports for reporting / collection purposes
  • Provide trended billing report for internal reporting purposes
  • Provide responses to AR balance sheet flux analysis
  • Maintain effective communications with customers to obtain timely payment
  • Assist with evaluation of allowance for doubtful accounts
  • Timely and accurate application of customer payments
  • Manages the monthly distribution of customer statements
  • Work collaboratively with sales representatives to address customer collection issues
  • Monitors cash forecast vs. cash actuals and follows up to ensure we are on target to meet collection goals
  • Performs credit checks on new customers to establish appropriate credit limits and payment terms
  • Support and respond to external audit requests
  • Assist with special projects as required

Required Education or Formal Training:

  • 5 years related experience which includes experience having the majority responsibility for AR, billing and collection functions within an organization
  • Thorough knowledge of corporate credit and collections policies and procedures
  • Must possess ability to remain calm, patient, objective, and professional when presented with difficult situations
  • Must be able to effectively and professionally take control of a conversation with a difficult customer contact, as necessary
  • Applicant has to be computer literate and comfortable using Excel, Word, and other Windows-based programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential
  • Self-motivated individual able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with Great Plains, NetSuite & Salesforce is a significant plus

Principal Analyst, Technology Strategies

Job Function:

Eduventures, a division of NRCCUA is seeking a client-focused, analytical thinker who has a strong background in a wide-range of information technology (IT) products and services used by higher education institutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise designing and creating industry-leading IT thought leadership and research, be proficient at leading focused advising engagements for senior IT leaders at public and private institutions, and accustomed to viewing IT in a larger higher education context. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates seeking to apply their experience at a fast-paced, professional research and advisory services organization.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients within higher education institutions on key strategic and operational IT decisions, which may include, but is not limited to:
    • Determining the technical requirements to meet required business specifications for a new IT product.
    • Understanding the potential challenges associated with implementation of a technology system.
    • Defining the success factors for the selection, acquisition, and implementation of a technology system.
  • Develop and deliver actionable, leading-edge recommendations about IT products and services for clients.
  • Collaborate with researchers and consultants to:
    • Manage research and data collection to analyze key IT trends and challenges facing leaders of higher education institutions.

Required Education or Formal Training:

  • Seven to ten years related work experience working for a technology provider serving the education market, working at a research/consulting firm, or working for a higher education institution.
  • Successful candidates will specifically have experience within one or more of the following areas: assessing the IT market, buying IT products and services, managing IT strategy for a higher education institution, or developing an education-focused technology product.
  • Strong analytical abilities and aptitude for using data to inform decision-making.

Senior Database Administrator

Job Function:

We’re looking for a Senior Database Administrator to be a key member of a small, skilled, results-oriented team of IT professionals. The role involves broad responsibility for data maintenance, monitoring, optimization and support. Additionally the Senior Database Administrator may be called upon to support database development efforts. The Senior DBA should be a thought leader who designs and develops processes and systems to improve efficiencies and effectiveness within the NRCCUA technical space.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Database server configuration and documentation; development, implementation and enforcement of database server configuration standards and processes
  • Database server administration, including monitoring and maintenance
  • Database analysis and optimization
  • Support for reporting and ETL activities as needed
  • System support for the development teams (database and application) with overflow database development tasks assigned as necessary
  • Design, configuration, implementation, optimization, and support of database servers and supporting devices.
  • Database backup and recovery configuration and monitoring. Disaster recovery plans, processes and testing

Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Job Function:

We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to be a key member of a small, skilled, results-oriented team of product engineers. We’re building the next generation of our products, and we want someone with as much passion for the work as we have. If you absolutely love working with the MEAN stack, and have a solid foundation of software engineering skills, you may be the person we’re looking for.

You’ll be working as part of a Scrum team, developing web apps and RESTful microservices with Docker on AWS. This is a hands-on role, working with other senior engineers, writing code, testing, and deploying the finished apps and libraries.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Create working, maintainable, and fast web apps, web service APIs, and libraries from product requirements and UX/UI designs, and in conjunction with other senior engineers.
  • Enhance, refactor, and continuously improve the codebase.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people.
  • Solve business needs with short-term deliverables, while constantly improving and moving towards long-term architectural goals.

Required Education or Formal Training:

  • 2+ years of experience developing with the MEAN stack – MongoDB, Express, Angular, and Node.js. Angular 2 experience is a plus.

  • Experience in RESTful service development on the Node platform. Experience with Docker and microservice architecture is a plus.
  • Ability to write idiomatic Javascript code.
  • Knowledge of Node performance techniques.
  • Familiarity with performance testing and tuning Node servers.

  • Python skills are a plus. We typically use Node for front-line servers, but we also use Python for server development.

Regional Sales Director

Job Function:

The Regional Director will be responsible for using consultative and value-based sales techniques to understand prospective customer’s needs and recommend NRCCUA solutions in a compelling and strategic fashion. This position is responsible for managing existing client relationships and establishing new revenue opportunities via cold-calling, prospecting, and closing new business in Post-Secondary Education markets, particularly those with a prioritized interest in recruitment solutions. Conducting effective, efficient, and professional in-person, telephone, email, webinar communications to achieve performance metrics is essential and required.  This position will require 75% travel

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strategic sales plan and individual account tactics to effectively penetrate and identify business needs with ultimate decision makers. Exceed sales quota by creating and communicating the value of member services with prospective customers.
